A sedimentary rock that occurs on the surface of the earth. It is usually white or light gray and is similar to limestone. Dolomite typically features gray or beige veining, but you can find it eventually with hints of pink, black, brown, or green.
Dolomite is widely distributed worldwide, commonly referred to as dolostone or dolomite stone. Dolomite rock makes an excellent choice for kitchen countertops because of its durability. High-polished slabs are cut from the mined material. Dolomite is between marble and quartzite in terms of hardness despite having a similar appearance.
